Covid-19 Vaccination Campaign to Medical Workers in Sudan

Using money appropriated by Congress in December 2020, the United States provided an initial $2 billion contribution to Gavi, the vaccine alliance for COVAX, to support access to safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines for 92 countries including Sudan. The U.S. Embassy is pleased to hear that the government of Sudan received 828,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine on March 3 and began its coronavirus vaccination roll-out yesterday at Jabra isolation hospital, giving priority to medical workers.
