The Political/Economic Section is responsible for current and long-term reporting and analysis of Sudan including domestic and international political and economic affairs. The Political/Economic Section maintains contacts with Sudanese governmental ministries and agencies, as well as international organizations, non governmental actors, civil society, and other diplomatic missions assigned to Sudan. The current focus of the section’s work involves monitoring and support of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) and Darfur Peace Agreement (DPA).
