Effective Tuesday, August 4, the U.S. Embassy in Khartoum, Sudan is resuming limited American Citizen Services appointments for passports and Consular Reports of Birth Abroad (CRBAs). Please visit our website to schedule an appointment.
Customers should expect delays when applying for non-emergency passports and CRBAs. U.S. citizens with expired U.S. passports who wish to return to the United States and families with newborn U.S. citizens without passports may schedule a passport appointment online for a limited validity, emergency passport. These emergency passports are issued at the Embassy and are intended for short-term use; their maximum validity is one year.

The Consular Section has taken a number of safety precautions in an effort to keep Embassy visitors safe. We have utilized proper signage and floor markers spaced six feet apart to ensure customers practice social distancing, placed hand sanitizers at every interview window, and spread out appointments throughout the day to avoid reaching the maximum occupancy limit under the CDC’s social distancing criteria. For your safety and the safety of our staff, consular officers are providing services with a face mask on. Customers are required to wear a face mask when visiting the Embassy for consular services; you will not be allowed to enter the Embassy without a face mask. We ask that customers who are feeling ill refrain from coming to the Embassy and reschedule their appointments.
