Refused or Pending IV Cases

Your case may be placed on hold under Section 221(g) if we determine that your visa application lacks required documentation or information or if your application requires additional administrative processing.

  • If your application requires additional administrative processing, then please wait until the Embassy/Consulate contacts you with further instructions.
  • If you are required to provide additional documents, please place the documents in the drop-off box located at the front gate of the Consular Section. Please write the name of applicant and the case number on the envelope. Do not send documents to the Embassy by mail.
  • If you are requested to personally return to the Embassy with additional documents or information, please send us an email at KhartoumIV@state.gov with the name of the applicant and case number
  • If you would like to inquire about a case that has been pending over 120 days, please send an email with the name of the applicant(s) and the case number to KhartoumIV@state.gov.
